Who doesn’t love great resources? For a social media marketer, our tools can sometimes feel like getting a new car. We take them out for a spin and move them through their paces to see if it’s a good fit for us, our organization, our workflow, and client needs.

The successful social media marketing expert uses several different tools to accomplish multiple requirements. We need tools for listening, engaging, posting, scheduling, image editing, competitor analysis, archiving, audience segmenting, creating personas, finding influencers, content calendar creation, password management and security, discovering great content to share, making infographics, creating videos, resizing said videos and images, and much more.
Many of these tools can be found in robust platforms such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Social Bakers, CoSchedule, Sprinklr, HubSpot, and AgoraPulse. Even with so many options, we have found that we have to use multiple platforms to really have all of the functionality that we need to meet our clients’ social media goals. Every year, more and more apps are available. While we want all of the toys, we evaluate them with a keen eye and a cost-benefit analysis.
