The one-day conference will take place on June 20, 2024, on the Science, Technology and Advanced Research (STAR) Campus at the University of Delaware, and will offer a unique opportunity to network with fellow social media and digital marketing professionals, share best practices, and discover fresh perspectives.

“Epic Marketing is excited to pioneer Social Media Day Delaware, uniting our social media community to recognize the ideas, content, and opportunities created here in Delaware,” says Jess Burton, Chief Event Organizer for Social Media Day Delaware and Social Media Director for Epic Marketing Consultants Corporation. “The First State has an identity all its own – both in the real world and the digital. Yet Delaware has never participated formally in Social Media Day. Instead, interested groups have had to participate from afar virtually or travel.”
History of Social Media Day
On June 30, 2010, digital media platform Mashable organized the first Social Media Day. Since then, it’s become a globally observed day to recognize and gather users and creators, both online and in-person. Businesses and media organizations annually host conferences in their home cities, from Denver to Philly. These localized events create networking opportunities and space to share targeted insights.
With Delaware’s conference falling before the traditional day of observation, Burton says the event naturally aligns with the state’s character.
“We all know that Delaware does things first, and we are eager to bring together our talented social media community to fully celebrate their ideas and content, and to create opportunities. This will be a space for creators, businesses, and organizations of all sizes to come together as part of Delaware’s unique social media ecosystem,” Burton says.
Focus on Learning and Education
The University of Delaware’s Division of Professional and Continuing Studies (UD PCS) proudly joins Social Media Day Delaware as Learning and Development Sponsor of the conference. Through this partnership, UD PCS will be giving away six paid UD PCS courses to attendees and offering a special UD PCS registration discount for all conference participants.
As part of the conference, sought-after social media educator Nancy Dibert, CEO and Founder of Epic Marketing, will lead an interactive lunch and learn session.
